mapworkspace is a solution dedicated to MapInfo Professional^® users to publish and share their maps.

mapworkspace’s accessibility and ease-of-use are truly unique. Although solutions currently exist allowing users to add simple geographic information to free online map services, mapworkspace stands out as it leaves the mapping professional with complete latitude to create maps in MapInfo Professional, and then use mapworkspace to easily share them with their peers or any other user. Public access allows non-GIS professionals to consult published information and interact with the authors in a user-friendly environment.

Delivered under the approach of a continuously evolving environment, new features are regularly added in order to improve the service. Among the hot new features are the support for MapInfo Professional 10.5 new stacked styles and multiple overrides, the support for WMS connections, the links to Google Maps and Earth, KML files export for use in Google Earth Desktop, and much more.

mapworkspace is available as an online service (SaaS, with free or paid subscription packages) or as an on-premise solution. See the solution options section for more details about these options.

Service / Solution Options

1 - A FREE subscription to mapworkspace as a SaaS provides users with an access to all of the service’s functionalities and sharing options. They are granted with 10 Mb of space and the capacity to publish and share up to 5 maps. Sharing options include the use of the embedding code for integration within a private Web environment.

2 - PAID subscription packages for mapworkspace as a SaaS are also available, providing more space and a wider range of map views. Depending on their subscription package, paying users can publish an unlimited number of maps within the disk space provided. Paid subscription package prices are mainly defined by hard drive space and number of maps viewed. An Enterprise package provides the additional capacity to share maps within a private group of users. The Enterprise package allows the administrator to create a group and share maps within this private group only.

3 - mapworkspace is also available as an ON-PREMISE solution. The complete application can be purchased for internal use. The application will then be installed on an internal server for private use. In this context, the person in charge of the system for the organization will have all the flexibility to manage all users, groups of users, maps, and usage statistics. The interface can also be customized for better integration into the corporate environment. Privacy

All mapworkspace users, paying or not, are requested login authentication to access their maps, and have the possibility to keep their maps private and visible to themselves only. Sharing maps with the mapworkspace community is entirely optional. Subscribers to the Enterprise package have the additional capacity to share their maps within a private group of users.
